Big Haircut
Ok, not a big haircut, but a change in color. I am feeling adventurous and have been getting tired of touching up the blond, so I went darker. Here it is.

Hide and Go Seek
I was working the 10am-7pm shift at the Tomorrow's Antiques furniture store on Saturday, so Alex brought me a late lunch and hung out until I got off. It was pretty slow, no one had come in for about an hour, and around 6:45 I went to use the restroom before I closed up. When I came out Alex was nowhere to be found. I made a couple laps around the store, called his phone a couple times (which he didn't answer), and finally found him hiding behind a couch. Game on. It was then my turn to hide. After he had found me he wanted to hide again. So I walk around the store and finally saw a bed towards the front of the store that looked a little more fluffy than usual. As I was walking up to uncover him, a customer walked in the front door just to our left. I played it off, asking if there was anything I could help them, knowing Alex would be under the queen mattress for a little while. Ten minutes went by, the customer was getting ready to leave, and in walks another customer. She stayed another ten minutes. By the time she left Alex had been squished between the box spring and the mattress of the queen bed for a good 20 minutes. He must have done a good job, because neither of the customers noticed. Our new found game has been named "Hide n' antique."

Sophie
I swore I would never have a cat. I didn't really like how distant and independent they could be. But, the other day Alex's friend (also our neighbor) asked us to come over for a second. So we did, and when we got
there they were playing with this little white cat. He explained that they had seen this kitty walking around our apartments the last couple of nights, she was really sweet, but they couldn't keep her because their cat was nervous around other animals. They asked if we wanted it by any chance, because if they couldn't find it a home they would have to take it to the pound. So as we talked about it, the little cat walked up to me, climbed in my
lap, then sprawled out across my legs and fell asleep. Dang that cute cat. So we took her home for the night, she slept on us as we watched a movie, we put her outside for the night, and she was still in front of our apartment when we woke up. She was always starving and thirsty, and has only disappeared once. That makes us think she doesn't have a home, and maybe now that it's starting to get cold she is looking for one. We'll put up fliers just in case someone is looking for her, but at least for now she is ours and her name is Sophie.

Life as we now know it...

Summer was awesome. We got settled into our apartment and our jobs through June and July, then went on some sweet family trips in
